Learning to quilt has been an amazing journey!

About two years ago I decided I was going to jump head first into the world of quilting. It has been such a fun learning experience! From figuring out how the heck to work my sewing machine to what do  you mean now it has to be quilted?! I have made great strides in my endeavor! I am creating this blog as my quilting journal. To share with all of you the good the bad and the it’s crooked and not lined up now where the heck is my seam ripper moments!

My first project I made was a rag quilt for my hubby. I loved that it was quilt as you go! It was a very fulfilling beginner project. I enjoyed the process of picking my flannel fabrics and arranging them just so.

First Rag quilt

My only complaint was snipping those edges at the end. OH MY! I now am the proud owner of an accuquilt die cutting machine along with the rag square die!

I am new to blogging so please be patient with me as I build my site and learn new ways to awe and inspire!

Until the next,

~~N~~

  1. I’m a beginner at this myself. I’ve literally JUST started quilting – as in, I haven’t even taken my sewing machine out of the box yet 😳
I love the colors of the quilt you posted! It looks so beautiful and cozy!

    1. Thank you! You should definitely get that machine out of the box and dive in! The scariest part is starting. The rag quilts are a great quilt to start with. You “quilt” as you go so you don’t have to stress about the final quilting and they can be scrappy and who doesn’t love a cuddly flannel quilt! They are very forgiving with seams and lines. I am planning on getting this blog going better this year. It is a recent new attempt 🙂 I hope when you seen some of the other things I was able to make as a new quilter you will be inspired!

      1. I’m new at this blogging thing too…. I’m trying to figure out how to make my posts visible to others in the same category. I’m diving in to all sorts of new things right now LoL
I’m opening the box today, I’ve been waiting for my daughter to go down for her nap and she just fell asleep, so here I go!!!
